My situation was very similar, I used to squeeze my tummy in front of my friends, but always felt like they all were looking at my fat belly. I felt pregnant all the time.     Most people believe that if you want to reduce stomach fat, you need to do abdominal crunches. Don`t be one of these people, and if you are doing them, you can stop at this very moment. Abdominal muscle crunches just do not work for total body fat reduction and belly fat reduction. And this is why: they focus on your abdominal muscles. But is your goal to tone ab muscles? No, your goal is to REDUCE THE FAT layer on your abdominal area. Then, and only then, people can see your abs.
